The Sports Multiverse is a multi-sport competition being developed in Huntsville, Alabama with the potential to expand to other communities across the state and nation. The concept was inspired by the on-going debate over who’s the greatest athlete of all time. Having played football with Bo Jackson at Auburn University, Robert Dowling had a front row seat to witness one of the frontrunners for the “GOAT” title! But several athletes have dominated their sports (Ruth, Ali, Gretzky, Tiger, Lebron, among others) and could legitimately be named the “GOAT.” So how do you measure athletic greatness across so many sports. Maybe the answer requires changing the question:

 

Who is the Most Versatile Athlete?

 

When Robert started looking for a competition that addressed this question, he didn’t find one. He found competitions that were athletically challenging, and he found entertainment shows that included multiple sports, but no competition was both athletically challenging AND required a single athlete to demonstrate proficiency in multiple sports. So, he began developing The Sports Multiverse to be that competition. And while we can’t settle the “GOAT” debate, maybe we can find today’s 

 

Most Versatile Athlete!

 

As Robert began developing The Sports Multiverse, he soon realized that a multi-sport competition could create many opportunities for athletes of all ages in Huntsville and other communities. As an athlete, coach and parent, Robert experienced the positive impacts sports can have on a person’s life and he wanted to ensure The Sports Multiverse promoted those positive impacts. We hope you see that in our Mission.
